HOBBIES AND FREE TIME
There are several natural breaks in the day, and with ‘Prep’ done first thing in the morning, the evenings are also free for pursuing extra-curricular activities.
Interest may well have been stimulated by a more formal ‘Hobbies Hour’ on a Wednesday afternoon, when each member of staff offers a particular ‘Club’ – some of these may offer the opportunity for further time spent in the Art Room, DT Centre, ICT suite or Music School, but others include Chess, Modelling, Flyfishing and Warhammer.
All these are available at the weekends as well, but two popular, traditional Sunday activities are ‘hutting’, the building of camps in the woods, and ‘cooking’, the frying of potatoes on camp fires.
