Testimonials

Woodcote is great fun. I love the sport, especially football, riding and golf. The teachers are fair and are always around to help in the evenings and at weekends; they make lessons interesting and I feel confident about Common Entrance and going on to Public School. Best of all I have made masses of great friends.”

“There is so much at Woodcote we will miss – the wonderful Concerts, the delicious Match Teas, the superb Plays, the memorable Carol Services – but above all the warm, friendly welcome we always received from boys and staff. We, and our son, felt we belonged to the Woodcote family from the very first day.”

HOBBIES AND FREE TIME

There are several natural breaks in the day, and with ‘Prep’ done first thing in the morning, the evenings are also free for pursuing extra-curricular activities.

Interest may well have been stimulated by a more formal ‘Hobbies Hour’ on a Wednesday afternoon, when each member of staff offers a particular ‘Club’ – some of these may offer the opportunity for further time spent in the Art Room, DT Centre, ICT suite or Music School, but others include Chess, Modelling, Flyfishing and Warhammer.

All these are available at the weekends as well, but two popular, traditional Sunday activities are ‘hutting’, the building of camps in the woods, and ‘cooking’, the frying of potatoes on camp fires.
