Vive ut discas, disce ut vivas
Live to Learn, Learn to Live
Woodcote boys are living to learn, and learn they
certainly do. However Woodcote is also very much
about learning to live; learning good manners,
tolerance and respect for others, and learning to
have a measured, confi dent and happy approach
to work and play. It’s what one imagines is happening
at a boy’s home, so it’s our business to see it happens
at his home from home as well.
So, for example…..
- Woodcote Boys stand up when an older person comes into the room, or comes to sit at their table in the dining room.
- Woodcote Boys greet visitors to school matches, chat to them on the touchline and help with ‘Match Tea’ afterwards.
- Woodcote Boys always applaud the opposition off the pitch.
- Woodcote Boys actively seek out the school chef and thank him for an especially delicious lunch, and thank those that have served them.
- Woodcote Boys are not afraid of having a laugh, but know when it’s time to stop and get on with some serious work.
They are living to learn, and learning to live.
