Testimonials

Woodcote is great fun. I love the sport, especially football, riding and golf. The teachers are fair and are always around to help in the evenings and at weekends; they make lessons interesting and I feel confident about Common Entrance and going on to Public School. Best of all I have made masses of great friends.”

“There is so much at Woodcote we will miss – the wonderful Concerts, the delicious Match Teas, the superb Plays, the memorable Carol Services – but above all the warm, friendly welcome we always received from boys and staff. We, and our son, felt we belonged to the Woodcote family from the very first day.”

Musical Opportunities

It is cool to be musical at Woodcote, and boys are as keen to be members of the Choir or Orchestra as they are to be in the 1st X1. 80% have weekly lessons in at least one instrument, with a daily practice scheduled, and there are several concerts throughout the year when individuals are given their chance to perform, whatever the standard.

The Chapel Choir sing regularly at our Sunday Services in our beautiful old ‘Chapel in the woods’, to which many parents come. They have also developed a fine reputation locally, being much in demand for weddings and christenings.

Every boy has the opportunity to be involved, musically or dramatically, in a major annual school production, many of them co-written and produced by Mr Nick and the Director of Music. We are proud of the standard of all these various performances certainly, but it is the self-confidence that they engender in the boys that gives us most pleasure.
