Live to Learn and Learn to Live
Our school motto is “Live to Learn, Learn to Live” (Vive ut discas et disce ut vivas) and Woodcote boys are encouraged to enjoy learning, working, playing and cooperating with their peers to the best of their abilities.

Boys follow a broad curriculum with all subjects taught separately, from the ‘Juniors’ (Years 3 and 4) upwards. French and Latin are introduced in Form III (Year 5) and Spanish in Form IV (Year 6).
In Form VI (Year 8) boys take the Common Entrance exam (we have a 100% Common Entrance record) and prepare for the senior phase of their education. Indeed Woodcote boys regularly win awards to leading Public Schools, a record of which we are extremely proud.

“…I wanted to let you know my appreciation for sending such a promising young man in our direction. He scored very close to full marks in the Physics paper and, whilst clearly talented, he had obviously been well taught as well.” Head of leading public school
