Sporting Chances at Woodcote
Woodcote encourages boys to enjoy sport and team games including cricket, rugby, football and hockey. The school has its own sports pitches, 2 Astroturf pitches, indoor pool, tennis courts, gym, golf course, rifle shooting range and athletics track. A recent addition to the school’s facilities is a proper rope assault course.

Woodcote is committed to fielding teams of all age levels and abilities, and on some afternoons 75% of the boys will represent the school. The boys enjoy working hard and achieve impressive results.
Some boys will arrive at Woodcote with an obvious sporting talent while others will show an inclination to try out something new and we are pleased to organise professional individual coaching, either internally or outside the school, to foster their interest. Currently individual sports that boys may take up include: athletics (track or field), fly-fishing, golf, riding, judo, riding, shooting (we have a Rifle Club), tennis, squash, trampolining and tetrathlon (shooting, bicycling, swimming and running).

In spring of each year prospective parents of keen sportsmen are invited to put their boys forward for the discretionary Headmaster’s Sports Awards.
