Woodcote House

Headmaster’s Welcome

Welcome to the Woodcote House School website. I hope it will give you a flavour of what our school is all about – a family school, in the truest sense of the word, but one which places special emphasis on the individual, encouraging them to achieve the best academic results possible, whilst also offering them countless opportunities to find their passion and, ultimately, to discover what makes them happy.

With an average of 10-12 boys in each class, my experienced and dynamic staff are able to support and stretch boys academically in equal measure, allowing them to progress at a quick rate, but one that is realistic and tailored towards each boy. We are proud of our academic success, with boys going on to the top independent schools in the country. Most importantly, having small classes means no boy is allowed to drift or coast through lessons. The staff get to know the boys extremely well and work out quickly the best way to get the most out of each individual.

With Sport, Art, Drama and Music embedded into our curriculum but also with a range of extra-curricular activities from chess to cookery, and from golf to gardening, every boy is afforded the chance to find their niche and is supported to pursue what they love.

Our principal message to boys is: “Be your kindest to everyone, and try your hardest at everything.” If they can do that, I have no doubt that they will make successes of themselves, and leave us equipped with all the tools to thrive at Senior School and in life.

My wife, Jessie, and I would be delighted to show you around Woodcote and introduce you to this unique place. Please do get in touch to arrange a visit. I look forward to meeting you in person.
