On Wednesday morning the Headmaster, Oliver Paterson spoke to the pupils of Jingye Primary School, located on an island in the East China Sea. He and the Chinese Principal, Mr Wang, compared the two schools. Mr Wang has 1000 pupils with 40 in each class, OP has 110 with 12-15 in each class. Both schools love their sport and study similar subjects in the classroom. Music and Art are also popular, and the children from Jingye gave a talk about the model ships they had made and the significance of the sea to their island based society. The Woodcote boys spoke about life in an English independent school and two of our Chinese students spoke to the Jingye pupils about their experiences of coming to school in England. We look forward to developing our links with the children and community in Jingye, perhaps we shall meet some of their pupils in the future?
