Calling all Woodcote House Old Boys, ex Parents, ex Staff and Friends of the School!

Many of you will have read Colin Holman’s obituary in the Daily Telegraph – if not, we have attached it here. It perfectly sums up the wonderful character we all knew and loved, and to whom so many of us owe so much.

Plans for celebrating his life are now taking shape.

His family have had his private cremation service and are having a Memorial Service to celebrate his life at St Martin’s Church (BA12 6PQ) on Wednesday 29th May at 2.00pm.

It is quite a small church, holding 120 or so, and there will no doubt be a good number of people who don’t know Woodcote, as well as family and locals, who will want to be there. There will be a small current Woodcote contingent, and I’m sure the family would like to see some Old Boys and friends – but, if possible, it might be wise to go on your own rather than in a family group and be prepared to stand at the back! Alternatively (or in addition), you might like to take us up on the following…

We will be holding our own celebration of Colin’s life on Sunday 7th July at Woodcote, starting at 11.30am.  All are welcome to attend – individually, in families, or in groups of Old Boys, but please bring your own picnics. There will be ample opportunity to swap multiple Holmanic stories and revisit your old haunts, finishing with a toast to the great man at a large ‘match tea’ at around 4.00pm.

Please email the school at holman@woodcotehouseschool.co.uk.to confirm that you will be joining us, and please forward this to anyone you think may not be accessing social media sites.

Nick, David, Rowan and Oliver much look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
